Cabrini's Grugan Sets NCAA Record In No.12 Men's Lacrosse 16-7 Win Against Fairleigh Dickinson
RADNOR, Pa. – The 12th-ranked Cabrini men’s lacrosse team started the 2010 season off on the right foot Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 16-7 win at Edith Robb Dixon Field versus Fairleigh Dickinson University. Senior attackman Casey Grugan (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley HS) tallied four points and eclipsed a 33-year-old NCAA Division III record in the victory.
Grugan’s goal at the 11:11 mark of the first quarter extended his consecutive goals streak to 55 games, surpassing John Cheek’s (Washington College) 54-game mark that stretched from March 18, 1974 – April 9, 1977. The two-time All-America selection started his run versus Hampden-Sydney College March 17, 2007.
Grugan also extended his consecutive points streak to a nation’s-best 58 games. He has recorded 49 career multi-point games and 45 career multi-goal games in just over three full seasons as a Cavalier.
