Keystone Captures Second Straight CSAC Baseball Championship

2010 CSAC Baseball Champions - Keystone College
Boyertown, PA.,- Led by coach of the year Jamie Shevchik Keystone College (29-7) captured The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) baseball championship for the second straight year. The Giants defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College in the title game on Saturday May 15, 4-1.
Keystone advanced to the championship game by defeating Centenary College in the first round 11-1 and then Gwynedd-Mercy 14-3 in the double elimination championship before meeting Gwynedd-Mercy again in the championship game. With the win the Giants earned the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament and will learn their fate on Monday, May 17th.
Senior Sean Murphy pitched eight innings striking out six and only allowing five hits for Keystone. Senior Eric Groff was named the championship most valuable player. Groff was three-for-five at the plate in the championship game. The CSAC regular season player of the year Esteban Meletiche had a pair of hits.
